We found this car at the Turkey Run in Daytona and it made us feel like we were in the golden age of stock car racing: Smokey Yunick at Daytona
George built this 1966 Chevelle in 1995 to look like the legendary Smokey Yunick’s 1966 Chevelle in Smokey’s honor.
Today he is still enjoying sharing the memories of the famed race cars that came out of Smokey's famous garage in Daytona,
“The Best Damn Garage In Town.”
In both 1998 and 1999 George took the car to Speedweeks in Daytona and Smokey autographed the car each year.
For the last ten years George has been taking the car to the Turkey Run which has been held at the Daytona International Speedway
every Thanksgiving weekend since 1973.
This car kindles our best memories of the late Legendary Smokey Yunick and Curtis Turner who drove Smokey’s famed gold and black number 13.
