A Roman Red 1959 Corvette is, and will always be, one of the most classic Corvettes.
John and Carmen’s Corvette is one of the finest examples you’ll find. They have owned the car eleven years
and have never owned a trailer.
As soon as they got the car they became active volunteers for the Hot August Nights event in Reno, NV
and continue to be two of the most active volunteers. As an honor for their dedication their
registration number is 1959 and will be for as long as they want it.
Although their car looks like it isn’t driven, it is! It simply receives many hours of loving care.
The most interesting part of this story are the care givers. John and Carmen were high-school sweethearts.
Follow this closely; they graduated on a Friday, were married on Saturday; John was inducted into the Army on Monday
for six months active duty; he got off active duty Christmas Eve and in June 2013 they will celebrate
their 50th wedding anniversary. You have to love them!
When you go to Reno for Hot August Nights go to the Show and Shine on Virginia Street in downtown
and look for their red Corvette under the Reno Arch. They’ll be close by and would love to say Hi.
